My grandson recently enrolled in Horizon Science Academy under stressful circumstances. He was required to leave his former school suddenly and enroll in another school within a matter of days. Administration and staff made this transition a smooth and pleasant one. My grandson is happy at Horizon, has made new friends, and finds all the teachers to be friendly and helpful.

I was in Ms. Wisecup’s classroom for my field experience and am writing to let you know how my experience was. I had a great time with this experience! Every day I would look forward to coming. I loved it all! Ms. Wisecup is a really great teacher and I’m so glad that I was able to watch her teach for a couple weeks. I loved working with her! I really enjoyed being with the children! This was a really great learning experience for me. I got a ton out of it and did not want to leave at all! Thanks to administration so much for allowing us to come every day. We appreciate everything that Horizon did for us!

I’m impressed; I have never seen a more caring school in all my years of dealing with different schools, due to being military and traveling. I highly recommend Horizon to any parent who wants their child to be able to learn and get the help they need to become a better individual.

I have attended HSAD from the time it opened. The changes I like this year are that we now have 10thgrade and more uniform choices. We are starting to have more races or cultures at Horizon Science Academy-Dayton. Also, we are learning a new language. We have a chance to start fresh and try to make a difference in the world we live in.

Over the past three years I have attended school at HSA. This school has given me the chance to use my true talents. They nominated me to be in the 2007 INEPO science fair in Europe. Although I did not win first, I would like to go back again. This school can be so much more. This school gave me an opportunity to show what I learned and what I am capable of. I hope newcomers will share the same experience as me.

I have been a student at HSA-D for 3 years. I like this school because it has a lot of clubs and opportunities. I learn a lot at Horizon. The teachers are great. My favorite class is math. We learn and also have fun in the classes. The field trips that we go on are meaningful. This school has books and computers for us to use. I am happy to go to Horizon Science Academy; I have a great time and know I am learning a lot.

“I love that there is a lot of parent involvement and the family atmosphere they provide I love their open door policy to come and check on your kids whenever you like. I love the extra help (tutoring & reading/math programs) that are in place to help any child that may be struggling. I also love the individual learning tactics that have been put in place. It is hard to teach children on the same scale when there are some who have other learning styles and struggle more than others. HSA has found a ways to make things work for each individual child.”
